2015 Scholar Athlete Awards
North Region:
Jelani Roberts, Gilman Greyhounds
An All-Metro and All-State selection for last fall, this versatile athlete was a team captain and ranks in the Top 5% of his class. A National Merit Scholar and National Achievement Scholar, he also runs track and is a member of the student government. He will play football at Northwestern University in the fall.
South Region:
Alexander Plotkin, Archbishop Spalding Cavaliers
An All-Conference selection and honorable mention All-State, this team captain is a 3 year starter and member of the National Honor Society. He is also a peer tutor, a camp counselor and member of the NFL High School Player Development Program.
East Region:
Andrew Visconti, Bel Air Bobcats
A team captain and first team All-County and All-Conference performer, he ranks in the Top 5% of his class and is a member of the National Honor Society. An AP Scholar, he also runs track, plays rugby, is the Class President and is an Eagle Scout.
West Region:
Liam Butler, Winters Mill Falcons
Voted first team All-Conference and a team captain, this quarterback ranks number one in his class and is a member of the National Honor Society. Having set a school record for passing last season, this National Merit Scholar also plays baseball and is a member of the student government.
Central Region:
Garrett Wack, Catonsville Comets
Three times selected as a first team All-County performer, this team captain ranks in the Top 10% and placed second in a National Kicking contest. He is a member of the National and Math Honor Societies, is an AP Scholar and Commended National Merit Scholar. He also plays baseball and is an Eagle Scout.
